The town of Broome is a tourism spot in the state of Western Australia. Situated between Dampier Creek to the north and Roebuck Bay to the south, the area is located some 2,200 kilometres north-east of Perth, the state capital. The community was named after Sir Frederick Broome, a Colonial Administrator in the British Empire and Governor of Western Australia between 1883 and 1889.

Established as a pearling town in the 1880s, Broome was once the pearling capital of the world. The site where the community now stands was chosen by Sir John Forrest, the first Premier of Western Australia. Situated within the Kimberley Region, the area is part of the Shire of Broome LGA, as well as the Federal Division of Durack and the State District of Kimberley. It has an estimated population of 14,436 people.

Tourism is one of Broome's most important industries, thanks to its natural heritage. The town's various attractions draw visitors year round, but more so during the tourist season, at which time its population grows to more than 45,000. There are a wide variety of ways to explore and experience the community, but the most convenient is through some of its locally organized tours.

Some of the most notable natural attractions in and around Broome include Cable Beach, Gantheaume Point, Minyirr Park, Staircase to the Moon, and Town Beach. To better appreciate the town's art, culture, and history, one might tour some of its relevant locales, such as Art of The Kimberley, Broome Historical Museum, Mowanjum Art and Culture Centre, Pearl Luggers, and SSJG Heritage Centre. Those who wish to experience local wildlife can visit the Broome Bird Observatory, Broome Crocodile Park, and Malcolm Douglas Wilderness Park and Wildlife Refuge.
